Counselling

I appreciate that choosing a counsellor is a daunting task especially when you are not feeling in a great place yourself. I am passionate about providing a safe environment for clients to come and talk about their present difficulties. I aim to offer an authentic working relationship between myself and clients. I see this trusting working relationship is where we can start to gently explore whatever is preventing you enjoying a fulfilling life.

There maybe times when you feel that the same kind of crises seems to reoccur in your life. For example you may repeatedly end up in destructive relationships. Counselling can help in the long term explore the root of the repeated patterns and then explore change. Change may seem unsettling, but with the support of counselling change may feel less threatening.

RELATIONSHIP COUNSELLING

I listen to what each person brings to the relationship exploring the difficulties that each is experiencing. This level of intimacy with a stranger can feel difficult and unnatural at first for a couple, and because of this I aim to provide a safe non-judgemental environment bringing positive change and development to what ever issue the couple brings to counselling. I see my role as a relationship counsellor working alongside the couple. I encourage transparency for example if one of the partners experiences not being heard.

MY APPROACH

I work as an integrative counsellor which means that I am trained in drawing from certain philosophies and theoretical models in my work for example Attachment, Psychodynamic and Existentialism. I see my role as working alongside you, offering a safe and non-judgemental environment to explore whatever is giving you difficulty, which in turn can support you understanding what it is that is making you unhappy.
